Kyle turns 24!!!

So here is Kyle - after 24 years he is still the silly guy as always! We had a great time having his requested dinner; Pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, rolls and broccoli. Whitney and Kyle were kind enough to bring his own cake - not that we wouldn't have bought one, but they wanted to make a delicious chocolate cake and it certainly was! topped it off with vanilla ice cream. We then divided into two groups and had a great time playing cards. We certainly have a very very competitive family. But that's what makes life interesting!

Here are my friends from High School, can't believe it's been 33 years! They look good don't they - it is great keeping in touch and having an annual dinner. What are friends for - we got together at Lisa Jones house on Saturday, Jan. 24th and she made a terrific dinner. The picture is of Lisa on the right, Dana Rapp, Trish Ishmael, and Kari Brown. We had a pork dish, garlic potatoes and cressant rolls. For desert she made a cherry crumb cake in the crock pot and served vanilla ice cream with it. I didn't know you could use the crock pot like a dutch oven, but that was the recipe she used. We had a great time, exchanged gifts and got the update of the past year in everyone's life. Soon we will be planning our 35 year reunion!

When Anna's instructor announced her name she also stated that Anna was the Valeditorian of the class! With 100%.

I'm sure she will miss all her friends.

When another one of her instructors, Kami Peterson, spoke she first told a joke - I think you will like it:

There was this woman waiting at the bus stop and the wind was blowing wildly - a gentleman came up to the woman and said, "ma'am your dress is caught up in the wind you might want to push it back down." The woman looked at him and said " I need both hands to hold my hat on." The man looking embarrassed said " but ma'am your privates are showing." To this the woman replied "whatever you see down there has been around for 85 years, I just bought this hat yesterday!"

So this was the start of the clinical speaker - it was a great day and we should be really PROUD of Anna - way to go!

Well we weren't sure we could do it this year - but we have reserved the cabin at Bear Lake!

Well after reading all the great blog spots that my kids have up - I decided to make a New Year's Resolution (even though it is a little late) to keep up with my blog this year. So look forward to an eventful blog from the mother of Jenn, Ape, Loni, Chad, Kyle and Anna. All your blogs are terrific so hopefully I can keep up with you kids!

Spoke with Karlan, the owner this morning and she said that they will probably never have the internet - her quote "This is a vacation - forget the internet". Again Check in time is 2:00 pm and check out is 10:00 am - July 28-Aug 4th.

Fri: Breakfast for Dinner - Loni & Brandon

Sat: Pot Roast - Mom & Dad

Sun: LEFTOVERS

Since there are duplicate items in meals - Dad and I will be bringing up the following;

5 Doz Eggs, Sour Cream, Butter, Syrup, Pancake Mix, Turkey Sausage, Tons of Veggies, String Cheese, Water, Popcorn.

Beside your dinner each couple should bring up 1-2 boxes of cereal, (2) 12 pack of soda, fruit, treats, chips.

Albertsons has coke products on sale buy 4 for $13 get a 5th one free - sale is from the 20th -24th.

Dan's Cabin

Okay so the Mesquito Repellant (Listerine) didn't work so well up at Pine Haven - Dan's Cabin. I'm sure it was because there were so many of those BLOOD SUCKING CREATURES! It works fine out on our deck at home. Anyway - Yellowstone, Dan's Cabin and the whole weekend was great fun. To you who could not be there, you were missed. Also the Bear World was a big hit for those of us who decided to take the extra day to go see. The picture is from Kyle and Whitney - what would we do without someone else taking pictures!! (But wait where is Mike? Oh yeah - he decided to sit this one out, literally - he was sitting on the steps watching us - silly kid!) I'm sure there are plenty of other pics out there - be sure to send them to me so we can get them posted, the weather was terrific and some of your pics are awesome!

Spray...

Worth a try

I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone.
A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine,
and the little demons disappeared.
The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle
and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes.
And voila! That worked as well.
It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table,
the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby.
During the summer, I don't leave home without it.....Pass it on
OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS:
I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors.
It works - in fact, it killed them instantly.
I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89.
It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too;
so it is not as expensive to use
as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes.
Try this, please.
It will last a couple of days.
Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door),
but spray around the frame.
Also spray around the window frames.
